Listening-Reading (L-R) method with bible.is app and a handheld english-language bible has been very good for me recently.  

4 gospels in 4 weeks, something like 90,000 English word equivalent, listened twice, read once for around 10 hours study a week.  

I started with memrise though, but that's (almost) all written, L-R is good for listening/speaking.  But I didn't start with no bisaya knowledge, I had some before the L-R method.  I don't think it's important, but I'll have years before I know.  I'll use it with other languages, but since I have to learn Cebuano now and later switch focus to Spanish, it will be 2018 or later before I use it on a language I don't at least know something.

Towards the bottom is a variation I'll use for tele-serys rather than the bible.  Watch/pause episode repeatedly.  Write down and learn unknown words. Write summary of episode to here!  This will be harder than the bible.is app way though.  "Giuhaw sa pagmahal" series probably, but suggestions welcome!

"Mostly Memrise initially. Now at about 5000 words 5 million points from memory. Done most Cebuano courses. Started writing my own. Some public. Some made from tatoeba. Writing courses benefited my knowledge.

Found one textbook primer. Been leant an English to Cebuano dictionary (wrong way round) with hard discussion on affixes.

Various semi pro/amateur cebuano PDFs on the net.

Librivox and bible mp3s. Very old, deep bisaya language. Use in car."

Unfortunately there's nothing that grips me in the language that I can use as a great, captivating resource for listening in L2 and reading in both L1 and L2.

Ideally I'd have a novel or history book but that isn't practical.

I said the bisaya out loud, did a few exercises. My speech sounds good to me now. It didn't use to.

Juan gospel 6 to 13 inclusive. Over half way there 21 in total.

Possibility of finishing on Tuesday for 4 gospels in four weeks.

That would make a total of 128 pages. 

Each page is around 7 minutes audio, repeated twice plus read in English. So say 20 minutes constant activity or 3 pages an hour and not much I can do to speed it up.

So 128 pages is 42 hours of active study. Plus lookups, speaking every day, listening in car on commute up to 1.5 hours a day.

Even at 7 minutes of new material that's 8.5 pages an hour or 15 hours of new audio in less than a month.

More importantly it seems more sustainable than other approaches I've tried and seems right now.

After John, write out Matthew in Bisaya / Cebuano and English, highlight unknown words, add explanation between the two columns. Possibly add to quizlet or Memrise.

How many unique Cebuano or English words are in Matthew? Enough for a reasonable basis for usable vocab and grammar?

1) find watchable tele-serys. Perhaps 'giuhaw sa pagmahal'. 300 short episodes. Catholic church origin.
2) watch episode (repeatedly?)
A) note down unknown words and time they occur in episode
B) review with native speaker (hence time)
C) write episode summary / review.
D) review my review with native.

Very hard work initially but gets me into colloquial native material.

Study hard rather than wallpaper that I partly ignore. I will have to concentrate. 

Hardest element will be to find a good time when I can concentrate but not too tired yet."
